Season:
Autumn 1967
Weather:
New York is experiencing very pleasant weather at the moment: the harsh bite of winter has yet to sweep down on the city, and so far sunny skies with the odd wispy cloud and a crisp fall breeze are the current norm, which is appreciated by both students and teachers alike.

Columbia 1968
A 1968 RPG

For decades, Columbia University has prided itself for its high standards and Ivy League standing. It has been the home of the best and the brightest, the A students, the great athletes, the legends who will go on to be great assets to society or even come back to teach at this prestigious place. But now, it adds another group to the list of what its students have become – the revolutionaries.

It is 1968, and the Vietnam War is raging. Students at Columbia are protected from the draft by their college deferments, but this will not last forever and the civil rights and anti-war movements going on around them are inspiring these privileged Ivy League students to question authority and find their voice. For the first time in a long time, the youth are taking matters into their own hands, thinking for themselves, and speaking up, and now they find themselves fighting desperately to keep those rights.

Columbia has become a dangerous place. Students begin skipping classes to attend almost-daily protests and demonstrations, local police are on edge and often violent, members of the staff are trying anything they can think of to redirect their pupils, and various student organisations are emerging, some with very different sets of ideals. The revolutionary culture of art, intellectualism, drugs, and music has swept Columbia up, and now the school is heading towards an inevitable explosion propelled by the unstoppable passing of time...

The Campus
[ ]University Hall
The main hall of Columbia, an elegant white-stoned building. Many people come here to hold demonstrations or sit on the green.
00
[ ]English and Philosophy Hall
English - which includes creative writing, literary analysis, and a great many other fields - and philosophy share the same building at the moment as well. This building is set close to Amsterdam Avenue and is a good place to relax, for this area on campus is full of trees.
00
[ ]Mathematics and Science Building
The building for mathematics and science is a large, lowslung brick building near University Hall. One of the oldest original buildings on campus, the M&S building, as the students call it, has a great deal of empty classrooms and confusing hallways - a good place to meet if you don't want to be found.

[ ]Low Memorial Library
An old, beautiful building known for its impressive white columns and iron-wrought statue on the front steps, Low Memorial Library has also been a gathering place for students of late. Intellectuals meet within to discuss current events amidst people doing their homework, and many large protests have been held outside. As a result, police are always prowling around here, although the students sitting outside on the steps have learned to ignore them. Many students have picnics on the lawn here regardless of the weather or season.

Dormitories
[ ]Armstrong Men's Dormitory
The men's dormitories are put together in the large, four-storied stone Armstrong building. Most rooms sleep two to three people, but many of the boys prefer to sleep in one of the large common rooms that make up the downstairs - the couches are very comfortable.
00
[ ]Carman Women's Dormitory
The women's dormitories are found in the tall, towered Carman building, surrounded by ivy and tall oaks. Rooms sleep two to three people.
00
[ ]Teacher's Houses
The teachers and administrators live in a small clump of houses near Broadway Avenue. The President's House, a large, many-roomed mansion, presides over these. Most teachers live two to a house, although some have rooms of their own off-campus.
00
Off-Campus
[ ]Margie's Cafe
Margie's Cafe is a fun place to hang out for all students, who come here to work, get a cup of coffee, and sit down for some serious discussion or to watch a local band play. Margie's is often a place to come for protestors on the run from the police or for SDS meetings, which are occasionally held here.
00
[ ]Morningside Park
The large park parallel to Amsterdam Avenue that is open to the public. Many students like to take walks in this beautiful expanse of trees, gardens, and fountains on weekends or between classes.
00
[ ]St. Michel Restaurant
Named for the Parisian quarter, St. Michel restaurant serves delicious French food and is rather upper-class. Many teachers come here for dinners out, and, if they can afford it, you'll find the odd student here as well.
00
[ ]Offices (1 sub-board)
There are several buildings on Riverside Drive that have office space available. Rent is minimal and therefore many leaders of student organisations have taken advantage of this opportunity and rented an office to use as headquarters.

Office sub-boards within.
